Instructions for Use

Tools: High‑density foam roller recommended. Alternatives: brush or putty knife. Mask the outside edges with tape.

Compatible surfaces: stone, concrete, brick, stucco, granite, marble, tile, glass, metal.
U‑Mask‑It HD is formulated for: rough or uneven textures (stone, concrete, brick, tile, wood, stucco, and more).

1) Prepare

Clean the surface. Mask the perimeter with tape to define your work area.

2) Build the base

Apply a thin, even first coat. Allow to dry until tacky. Repeat to build at least 4–5 coats total, increasing thickness on subsequent coats.

3) For rough/uneven surfaces

After the Original base is established, apply additional coats of U‑Mask‑It HD until the texture is fully sealed and bleed‑through is prevented. The exact number of coats depends on surface profile and conditions.

4) Paint

Once dry, apply your paint/color over the cured masking layers and let dry.

5) Remove

Peel back slowly to remove the masking film. If removal is stubborn, apply one more coat, let it dry, then peel again.
Timing note:
Do not leave U-Mask-It on longer than 12 hours after applied.

FAQs

How many coats should I plan for?

Use 4–5+ coats of Original to create the base. Highly textured surfaces may require additional HD coats.

How long between coats?

Apply the next coat when the previous coat is tacky (time varies by temperature/humidity).

What if I see bleed‑through on heavy texture?

Continue building U-Mask-It HD layers until voids/texture are bridged. Ensure full coverage before painting.

What tools work best?

A high‑density foam roller gives the most even film; brush/putty knife are acceptable alternatives.

When would I need to get the High Density U-Mask-It (HD)?

U-Mask- It HD builds a thicker film faster to bridge deep texture, pores, and voids. Surfaces like rough-cut stone, highly pitted concrete, porous brick, textured woods, or sandblasted monuments with open grain could all work better with HD.
